About

My background

Choosing a psychologist is often done blind, at the very moment you have the least energy to compare. This page brings together what you need to decide: my training, the way I work, and the framework that protects what is said in a session.

Training

A protected title, a degree that can be checked

In France, the title of psychologist is protected by article 44 of law no. 85-772 of 25 July 1985. It requires five years of university study in psychology, completed by a master’s degree that includes a professional placement. Anyone using the title without this degree commits a criminal offence.

Credentials

My credentials

Since 3 June 2024, psychologists in France have been listed in the RPPS, the shared national register of health professionals, which replaced the former ADELI register.

The practice

Where and how I work

I see people at my practice and by video. Sessions are spaced out, so you do not run into the person before you.

Practice address
10 avenue Charles Jourdan, 26100 Romans-sur-Isère
Days and hours
Monday to Friday: 9:00 – 12:30, 14:00 – 19:00
Session length
First consultation: 50 minutes Adult consultation: 50 minutes Adolescent consultation: 45 minutes Couples therapy: 75 minutes

Video sessions are possible once therapy is under way, or when travelling is not an option — distance, reduced mobility, work trips. The connection is encrypted and no session is recorded. Meeting at the practice first is still preferable when possible: a great deal is conveyed by being in the same room.

Approach

How I work

My work is less about giving advice than about helping you understand what you are going through. I will not tell you what to do with your life; I will help you see more clearly what is holding you back, what you want, and what makes certain decisions so hard.

The framework is stable: same day, same time, same length. This regularity is not an administrative constraint: it is what allows us to pick up the thread from one session to the next rather than starting again each time.

The length of therapy is not decided in advance. Some situations ease within a few sessions; others take several months. We take stock regularly, and the ending is prepared: therapy does not stop overnight.

Ethics

The ethical framework

Psychological support rests on commitments that do not depend on the practitioner’s goodwill. Here they are, stated plainly.

Professional confidentiality

Everything said in a session stays between us. Psychologists are bound by professional confidentiality under articles 226-13 and 226-14 of the French Criminal Code; there are only rare exceptions, strictly defined by law, mainly when a vulnerable person is in danger.

Consent

You remain free to stop therapy whenever you wish, and free not to answer a question. For a minor, the agreement of those with parental authority is required, but what is said in sessions remains confidential from the parents.

No professional order

Unlike doctors or nurses, psychologists in France have no professional order. The psychologists’ code of ethics, updated in 2021, therefore has no regulatory force, but I follow it as the profession’s reference framework.

The limits of my practice

I am not a doctor: I do not prescribe medication and I do not make psychiatric diagnoses. When a situation calls for medical advice, a specialist assessment or a service I cannot offer, I say so and refer you on.
